Chill out

This is the good life!

May 2021

Pamper yourself with our ideas and addresses for you to unwind.

How do you like the sound of some me-time to relax, be pampered and take care of yourself? Châteaux, hotels, B&Bs and more have answered the call to bring you prime time away from it all and soothe your soul in the Bordeaux vineyard . All you have to do is choose!

Zen in practice…

These Oriental techniques are all about taking things slow and creating harmony between body and mind.

Unite the body and mind with yoga. There are lots of places to try including Château Climens where you can do Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra, a blend of yoga and meditation among the vines. The Yoga & Wine class at Château Boutinet involves a yoga class with Nathalie to open your mind followed by a feast for the senses tasting the winery’s produce (the class won at the Trophées de l’œnotourisme 2020).

Château du Payre brings you a sophrology experience to improve personal awareness and achieve a sense of relaxation with the Sophrowine class, so you can try to identify wine flavours and find the right words… (Best of Wine Tourism 2019).

Last but not least of what’s new in the vineyard, Château Monconseil Gazin provides outdoor wine and tai chi classes: embrace the art of flow and control your breath to awaken your senses and get the most out of your wine tasting experience.

Be spoiled

Spa-Vinothérapie® at Les Sources de Caudalie brings together the benefits of natural hot water springs and the vines and grapes in one-of-a-kind beauty and wellness treatments. Close your eyes and be pampered by the expert hands of vinotherapists.

You could indulge in château life and soak up the jacuzzi with vineyard views at Spa Saint-Emilion at Château Hôtel Grand-Barrail… Unless you’d rather dive into a wellness haven at Spa-Balnéo Salvéo with a hot tub, zen garden and solarium. Fitness fans can bring golf and wellness together at the Médoc Resort’s golf course: 200 hectares in the great outdoors where you can play on two of the best golf courses in Europe then unwind with a sensory relaxation experience.

There’s no lack of choice in town either. Here at Pulpe, we’re mad about the “French-style” luxury of Relaxation with a capital R at Spa Guerlain Les Bains de Léa on the Intercontinental Bordeaux’s 5th floor: over 1000m² devoted to relaxation and wellness in a dream setting.
