Arty Vineyard

Art attack!

We just call it an open-air museum. Art is part and parcel of the world of wine in the Bordeaux vineyard, they bounce off each other. You know your holiday in the vineyard will tantalise your tastebuds but you’re in for a sight for sore eyes too. Contemporary art in the great outdoors, exhibitions, artist’s homes, museums, arty labels, vibrant vintages: you’re in for a treat!

Strolling around the city?

You’ll be amazed by Bordeaux’s museums: 10 different styles, a thousand different types of art. You’ll see that the city is simply bursting at the seams with creative energy, from contemporary pieces at the CAPC to the biggest digital art centre in the world, Les Bassins des Lumières and the classic chic collection at the Musée des Beaux-arts. If you’re a real culture vulture then we should mention that literature and philosophy also take pride of place in this artistic showcase: Montesquieu at Château de la Brède, Mauriac at Domaine de Malagar and Montaigne at his home of the same name have made Gironde a truly great creative destination.

Exploring the vineyard?

You’ll find winemaker/collectors here and there or you can follow in the footsteps of artists who lived here. Visit wineries and soak up the outdoor and indoor exhibitions. Famous artists and architects with divine taste (it’s true!) came here to leave their mark and signature to produce an extraordinary work of art. Dear visitors, count yourselves lucky that you get to not only experience a colour, flavour, wine but also artists of all kinds: a feast for the senses! As you can tell, you’re in for a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we can’t wait to find out what you felt, saw and did: send us your photos and stories on our social media.
