Chateau Jaron

Château Jaron is located in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards, at the gates of Dordogne and Lot et Garonne. Philippe Libératore took over the family business in 1994, it was his union with Caroline Comin in 1998 which gave birth a few years later to Vignobles Comin-Libératore. This vineyard, cultivated in the family for more than 4 generations, currently has 40 hectares. The vines extend over four different municipalities: Landerrouat, Soussac, Saint-Antoine du Queyret and Pellegrue. The average age of the vineyard is 30 years. Drawing their sap from a clay-limestone and clay-siliceous soil, our vines are forced to take root deeply in order to find vital freshness and humidity during the hot summer months. From this difficulty, every year we obtain dense and sweet ripe grapes. The wines of Château Jaron are like this: on the nose, we find crushed strawberries, candied raspberries. On the palate, the tannins are smooth, ripe and balanced. Pair our wine with a leg of lamb, a rib of beef in coarse salt or why not with a dish with a Mediterranean accent. In 2013, Caroline and Philippe have a new project to enhance their wine. They learn about the aging of wine in jars, talk about it with their oenologist, meet a potter, learn about the production and select the best plots of the vineyard. It is a new adventure which begins, a permanent attention which will last twelve months. Finally, in May 2016, an exceptional cuvée was born, it is called Giara.
