The Bordeaux Wine Festival

In 2020, Bordeaux Fête le Vin will again combine the presence of some very large ships to tasting Bordeaux and New Aquitaine wines. Rendez-vous on the quays of Bordeaux, registered at Unesco World Heritage.
In 2018, for its 20th anniversary, Bordeaux Fête le Vin has welcome about twenty Sail boats as part of the Tall Ships Regatta. This edition was celebrating, on the docks of Garonne, the unbreakable links between wine and navigation which was a great success.

In 2020, Bordeaux Fête le Vin will again combine the presence of some very large ships to tasting Bordeaux and New Aquitaine wines. Rendez-vous from Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st of June 2020, on the quays of Bordeaux, registered at Unesco World Heritage.

On a 1.2 km "open air wine road" along the river, visitors will meet the winemakers and merchants from Bordeaux and surroundings. Nearly 80 appellations will welcome visitors to ephemeral wines stands held by winegrowers. A unique opportunity to discover the quality, authenticity and diversity of Bordeaux wines and New Aquitaine thanks to the tasting pass (11 tastings for 21 euros)

In the heart of the event, the “Pavillon de l'Ecole du Vin de Bordeaux”, always very popular by amateurs, offers many workshops or masterclass initiation to the art of wine tasting.

Spread over the entire length of the event, the wine stands will alternate with gourmet stands ran by regional producers, gastronomic cabins ran by chefs and finally tourism pavilions aiming at sharing the rich heritage or tourism of our territories.

A dozen tall ships will dock in the “Moon Harbour” will be open to visits and some of them will offer cruises on the Gironde. Among them, Belem, Thalassa, Kruzenshtern or Shtandardt...

Brussels, hosts yearly an event dedicated to the wines of Bordeaux and gastronomy ("eat Brussels, drink Bordeaux") and will be the guest of honor of this edition. A program celebrating the creativity and conviviality of Brussels will be offered to visitors, on gastronomy, comics and the presence of Philippe Gelück, the famous creator of the “Chat” (The Cat): as a "Gelück Museum" is about to open in Brussels, Bordeaux will host during the summer 2020 twenty or so monumental sculptures of the “Chat”. Several of them will be installed on the docks as part of a tour inaugurated during the Wine Festival.

With hundreds of thousands of visitors, Bordeaux Wine Festival is today the biggest European oeno-touristic event and contributes to make Bordeaux the economic, cultural and festive wine capital.

It is also and above all a great popular and family celebration open to all, to enjoy the space and the conviviality of the quays, the spectacle of the tall ships and the animations proposed at different times of the day.
