A Saint-Emilion winegrower for centuries, Grand Corbin-Despagne for over 200 years.
Although the origins of the vineyard can be dated back "only" two centuries, the very first trace of the Despagne family in Saint-Emilion goes back more than 500 years. Since then, each generation has made a name for itself in the vineyards, eventually becoming winegrowers themselves. François Despagne, the seventh generation at the helm, is delighted every day to work the land of his ancestors and to have to deal with a terroir that is both unique and varied. His curiosity and commitment led him to convert the vineyard to organic farming in 2004, an intuitive choice that respects the eco-system where six generations had lived before him. The Grand Corbin-Despagne vineyard, located on the Grand Corbin plateau and planted in characteristic blue clay soils, produces fresh, elegant wines that develop over time.
Visits and workshops by appointment only.
The workshops are run by people from the estate with oenology qualifications.
Each discovery package focuses above all on the teaching methods used throughout the tour, from practical immersion in the vines to the discovery of technical tools, and finally the tasting session.
