We are delighted to welcome you to Montagne. This hotel has a history.
25 years ago, the former Presbytery of Saint Martin's Church, which had fallen into disrepair, was saved from destruction by local residents, who helped restore this long, beautiful building - a "Girondine", as it is known.
Fully restored, it now houses the hotel and our restaurant "La Réserve du Presbytère".
The hotel reception area is located in the former small mountain theater, to which it owes its typical facade.
Years ago, when we first came to Montagne, the Tuscan charm of the hills in the Saint-Emilion vineyards, the colors, the alternation of rhythmically striped vineyards and bushy groves, the Romanesque churches, the parvis, the dry heat on the stone in summer, the olive trees in full bloom next to the blushing photinias, the cypress trees pointing with dignity to the sky, all reminded us of the Italian countryside around Siena.
We'd nicknamed the area "Little Tuscany".
Through the hospitality, setting and comfort we aim to offer, we hope to be the humble heirs to the refined, welcoming homes of the Italian Dukes in the centuries of Siena's greatness.
