Built at the end of the 13th century, the castle of Langoiran was one of the element the more prestigious and powerfull of the duchy of Aquitainia.
The fortress of Langoiran was involved in the struggle between the king of England and the king of France, this castle became a royal fortress at the end of the 15th century, and later the residence of the chairman of Bordeaux parliament during the 16th and 17th century.
Burnt during the Fronde in 1649, it stood as a ruin since. It has been restored since 1972 and liven up by a local association : les amis du Château !
